1 "Confirmed" facts about the children of William & Sarah Moore Brisbin:
#1) William* - is Dr. William Brisbin of Philadelphia - However, I have no idea where I found this information, but I did make that note biside his name. George Mytinger Brisbin also believes this William to be be the Dr. Wm B of Philadelphia - see N & Q 1899:95 So this is NOT a verified fact.
#2) Elizabeth* - married about 1797 Centre Co. PA d. 1845 Jefferson County, PA - Again, my notes on page - no idea where I got them from.
#4) Sarah "Sally" * - Spouse: David Whitehill, JR (1775-1861 b. Salisbury Township, Lancaster, PA d. Helen Furnace, Clarion, PA Bur: Highland Township, Clarion, PA . Father was David Whitehill SR (1743-1809). Again - my notes on page, no idea of source
#5) James^ - Married January 8, 1811 by Rev Wm Stuart - Salisbury Township, Lancaster, PA. He was married on this date, not buried. This is one fact that Jerry verified, however, he forgot to cite his source. Says it was in a book on marriages!!!!
#6) Samuel^ - Possible second marriage to Mary Ann Flack on 28 Feb 1832. Lived in Bellefont. Married by Rev. James Linn. Jerry verified, but source unknown.
#10)Agnes^ - Listed as "Nancy" and married John Marens on 30 Mar, 1802 by Rev. Stuart.
#11) John^ - Jerry wrote the following citation: John Brisbin and Rachel Rankin 3-19-1840 by Rev. Wm Stuart. (I don't think this belongs to this John, but could be.
#12) Ezra^ - Confirmed. Peggy PACKER by Rev. William Stuart, Salisbury Township, Lancaster, PA
These "confirmations" (such as they are) were ALL done at the PA Historical Society (Phil). The * beside a name indicates my notes-- which were neatly written in pen--and leads me to believe I wrote them ahead of time, perhaps the night before, so unfortunately I have no source. (Jackie if you know where I found it--fill me in) because I did NO marriage confimations at the Society, that was Jerry's job! And that first day, he did not understand the importance of citing his sources, so the information marked with a ^ is his work and was DEFINATELY confirmed but could have come from any one of the following sources:

Military Record--French-Indian War and Revolutionary War
George Mytinger Brisbin (son of Samuel, grandson of Capt John) wrote in the 1899:95 volume of Notes & Queries, Captain John Brisbin was in the English army before the Revolution and then received a large land grant from George the III located in Green River, Kentucky. But during the war his papers became scattered, land monopolized by strangers and lost to him.
A Correction Reply appeared in Notes & Queries vol XIV from "J.B.R." that Captain John was a soldier in the French & Indian War and he held a lieutenant's commission in the English army. Part of the time during the war he was in Canada, 1776 and thought he was with Gen. Wolfe on the Plains of Abraham. For his service he received 2,000 acres of land in Virginia at the close of the war. Returned home to Bird-in-Hand and was appointed Collector of Military fines where he was so kind-hearted he ended up owing the government for the uncollected fines and died a poor man.
At the end he was residing with his daughter, Elizabeth Brisbin Rutherford in Swatara Township, Dauphin, PA and is buried in the old Paxtang-Derry Presbyterian Cemetary. The inscription on the stone reads:
Capt. JOHN BRISBIN
Soldier of the Revolution

The newspaper of the day: Lancaster Intelligencer gives the date of death as 20 March 1822. Lancaster County Historical Society XXXIV 1930 p. 147.
Marjorie Morrow sent an ancestor chart showing the father of Capt. John to be William Brisbin b 11 Mar 1707 in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland, and that he was married about 1725, but she doesn't say to whom. She shows the father of this William to be a James Brisbin m to Beatrix Cambell and has no data on them at all. She also gives no source.

pictures I took of the graves." He further says"Wm M.was 40 yrs old when mar
to Frances Ann. Aunt Ona WIlliams said he came to OR in 1835-36 but I can find
no trace of him then. No land claims, etc. But Aunt Ona might be right, which

Note daughter, Rose's death certificate states that Mother's name was "Sarah Elkins" and that Sarah was born in Elkins, VA. Note informant on death certificate listed at W.R. Young. Further, Rose's husband's mother is a Sarah so there could be some confusion.
Obtain death certificate for Rebecca J. Naylor from Missouri State Board of Health confirming date of death as 7/15/1913. Note that death certificate shows date of death as 7/15/1913, not the 7/16/1913 found on the LDS church file. It seems as though the date was confused with Her husband's date of death.
